Going Back in time…..

There is a great move of God that is taking place in our midst but for many it has gone unnoticed. Just like any tsunami that doesn’t start off at its peak. This move of God had begun a few years ago as a ripple but has been gaining momentum over the last 2 years during the Covid 19 pandemic.
The bible says “all things work together for good for them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose”. Even though the pandemic wasn’t from God he has used it to separate the wheat from the chaff, the luke warm from the sincerely hungry and passionate for Him. I believe it will be and has always been a remnant group of people that will carry the presence of God in what is now being called the third great awakening by many. I consider the first one taking place during the early 1900 known as the Azusa street revival. The second being the Jesus Movement during the early 70’s and today the third great awakening, the day that we are living in. There is a difference between an awakening and a revival though. Most great awakenings started as revivals like the Azusa street revival starting in the gatherings of believers in a home in California that eventually turned into one of the greatest movements of God throughout the world. It was a movement that put an emphasis on the power of the Holy Spirit. The Jesus Movement was also started in small gatherings in homes and mushroomed into a great move of God in the late 60’s and early 70’s bringing hundreds of thousands of mostly young people to a saving knowledge of Jesus.
Today we see similar things that are taking place. Prayer houses have sprung up all over America praying and worshipping God and seeking His great out pouring once again. We also see some local churches that are passionately seeking the presence of God as a way of life not settling for church as usual. These are like cups that are being filled to the overflowing with God’s presence and the world around them is slowly but profoundly being affected. It starts off as a quiet isolated outpouring of God’s presence but like a tsunami its gains momentum and influence day by day.
Covid 19 has helped it grow in its intensity. Because of the threat of sickness and death and the complete change of lifestyle that has been imposed on all of us, some have sought the Lord more. Pressure and hard times are like a two-edged sword. For some people it drives them closer to God and for others further away. By Gods design God has used Covid 19 to separate the luke warm and religious from those who genuinely desire his presence and trust whole heartedly in his word. Gods desire in all of this is to purify the hearts of His people causing a greater and hunger for more of Him and to be able to carry His presence in this world and to prepare for His second coming.
Notice the order of what is said. Gods main purpose for His coming wasn’t to take us to heaven even though that was a byproduct of his coming, His main purpose was for us to be equipped with eternal life to bring heaven here on earth. But before that could happen the bible talks about another event that must take place called the great falling away. That is to take place simultaneous with the Great Awakening.
Covid 19 has allowed the great falling away to happen by revealing peoples lack of trust and faith in God. Since the mandate for social distancing, the wearing of face masks, and many States that considered church’s as “non-essential” encouraging believers to stay home and watch and do church on zoom. Many people to this day even though many restrictions have been lifted, have never come back to church and many churches have never reopened.
I see that as evidence of the great falling away that the bible describes before Jesus comes again. (Read 1 Timothy.4:1-2 & 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3). But look around you… there still a remnant people that are stronger in their resolve concerning their walk with God than there was in a long time. A people that are willing to stand up for their beliefs in spite of the persecution that they face! A people that understand that the body of Christ is one body not a fragmented body and their desire to worship God together as one body has grown immensely.
There are many signs that we are well on our way to the greatest tsunami of Gods outpouring that we have ever known. This is Gods will and it can’t be stopped. He is preparing our generations’ hearts for His second coming. He is also preparing the souls of many in this dark and immoral world we live in to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus. Jesus said he wishes that no man perish but all come unto repentance (2 Peter 3:9). This is a move. There is a greater desire and movement to see the unsaved come into a saving knowledge of Jesus. We are seeing many more people accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior as well.
There is also and increased release of sign, wonders and miracles taking place during some of our corporate gatherings all over SW Florida and America. The fire has been turned up in many believers’ hearts bringing them back to their first love once again. This is a move of God and it’s going on unnoticed by many Christians and non-Christians a like.
But trust me when I say the best is yet to come because the origins of a tsunami of God’s presence is well on its way especially here in SW Florida.
So, get yourself ready by making more room for God in your life. Not just so you can be filled with His presence. But so that you can overflow with His presence and be one who carries His presence to the dying world we live in. Read Isaiah’s prophetic word for today (Is. 60:1-2)
